The office romcom Noa-senpai wa Tomodachi announces its anime adaptation
Studio feel. will animate this fun romantic comedy and workplace series based on Enma Akiyama’s popular work.
Fans of stories featuring adult protagonists have a new reason to celebrate. Publisher Kadokawa made an exciting announcement for franchise followers, confirming that the original manga Noa-senpai wa Tomodachi (known in English as Noa Is My Senior, and My Friend.) will get its own animated adaptation. The news came with vibrant concept art and the reveal of the main production team handling this unique workplace romance.

The story follows Rihito Otsuka, a laid-back employee at a gaming company who lives by the rule of expending minimal energy. His life changes dramatically thanks to his superior, Noa Saotome, the perfect businesswoman admired for her impeccable ethics. However, our protagonist accidentally discovers his boss’s hidden, embarrassing side, sparking an unusual “just friends” relationship outside work hours. This dynamic was created by author Enma Akiyama, who has been serializing the manga in Weekly Young Jump since 2023.

To ensure the chemistry between these two office workers translates perfectly to screen, the production committee entrusted animation to studio feel.. The director’s chair will be occupied by the experienced Shinsuke Yanagi (Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki), joined in supervision and scriptwriting by Keiichiro Ochi, known for his work on The Quintessential Quintuplets. Completing the team, Yumiko Yamamoto will handle character designs, promising to maintain the colorful, expressive style of the source illustrations.
As office-based romantic comedies gain popularity, do you think this new series will become a major hit in its debut season?
