Publisher Waku Waku Games has unveiled Extreme Survival Club! a fresh title from ZephyrStudio currently in development for PC (Steam).

Extreme Survival Club! is an anime-inspired PvE extraction shooter. The narrative centers on protagonist Moka Komori, a 19-year-old university student who loves reading and taking strolls. In an unexpected twist, Moka is pawned by her friend to settle a debt and is compelled to take part in a survival game on a deserted island. Alongside other girls she encounters there, she’ll embark on a quirky yet challenging survival journey.

Gameplay in Extreme Survival Club! takes place from an overhead view. The deserted island is dotted with food, crafting supplies, gear, and items you’ll need to complete quests. Given your backpack has limited space, you’ll need to wisely select what to carry during your time-sensitive expeditions. While scouting, you’ll also run into and battle what seem to be other contestants of the game, so managing your health and ammunition will also be key to survival.

In addition to a hunger mechanic, you’ll also have to attend to nature’s call. If you’re taken down, you’ll lose all the items you’ve gathered, so another rush comes from deciding when to retreat or push deeper in search of better loot.

Items retrieved from your expeditions can be used to finish quests and grow your secret base. As the hideout progresses, you’ll unlock useful items for purchase and access stat boosts that make future runs easier. The screenshots released so far also depict the player trading goods with the other girls. It seems players will enhance their living space by teaming up with “companions” they meet on the island in various ways. The story diverges into multiple conclusions based on quest progression and your decisions.

ZephyrStudio, the developer of this game, is an independent dev group from Japan. Their prior title, Monmusu Gladiator, is a deckbuilding roguelite that has earned a “Very Positive” rating on Steam since its release in 2021.

Following Extreme Revival Club’s announcement, the studio’s head Aoi Minato shared on X that they are a fan of Escape from Tarkov, and that the project originated from them experimenting with the idea of a Tarkov with a “toilet mechanic.”

Extreme Survival Club! is currently in development for PC (Steam).
