Japanese game developer TENDA Games and publisher Frontier Works have revealed that In a World Full of Zombies I’m the Only One Who Doesn’t Get Attacked: Road to Heaven is currently in development and slated for a 2027 release on PC via Steam. The game draws inspiration from the upcoming anime adaptation of the light novel In a World Full of Zombies I’m the Only One Who Doesn’t Get Attacked, which is set to debut in January of next year.

The narrative of In a World Full of Zombies centers on Yusuke Takemura, a former office worker who becomes a recluse and is ironically bitten by a zombie right off the bat. After suffering from a bite-induced fever, he awakens to find himself in the midst of a full-blown zombie apocalypse, only to discover that the undead seem to completely ignore his presence. Armed with this unexpected immunity to the world’s greatest threat, Yusuke resolves to exploit his situation to indulge in his hedonistic desires.

The game’s Steam page describes it as a blend of real-time strategy and tower defense gameplay. Players will assume control of the series’ protagonist, Yusuke, as he guides his companions on a quest to reach a place known as Heaven, a zombie-free sanctuary.

During zombie assaults, players will command Yusuke to assist his party members in unique ways, leveraging the fact that zombies pay him no mind. Players can move freely to alleviate pressure on allies by engaging zombies with firearms or tending to any injuries they sustain.

Upon successfully fending off waves of enemies, players will have a limited window to scavenge for resources or search for additional survivors before the next onslaught begins. Collected materials can be used to enhance weapons or strengthen defensive structures.

The game’s Steam store page notes that players will face morally challenging choices regarding whether to rescue or abandon various characters, stating that there will be instances where they are ”forced to make harsh or ethically complex decisions.” These scenarios range from aiding others, leaving them behind, or demanding compensation in return.

In a World Full of Zombies I’m the Only One Who Doesn’t Get Attacked: Road to Heaven is scheduled for release sometime in 2027 and is currently being developed for PC (Steam). The game will support English, Japanese, and Chinese (Traditional/Simplified) languages.
