Haikyu!! reveals new previews and visuals for its 2027 projects
Studio Production I.G will animate the National Tournament matches in 2027.
The national volleyball tournament is about to reach its peak on the big screen. The animated Haikyu!! franchise published a new promotional image for the anticipated movie Haikyu!! VS Chiisana Kyojin (Haikyu!! VS The Little Giant), along with a trailer for the special episode Haikyu!! Bakemonotachi no Iku Tokoro (Haikyu!! The Place Where Monsters Go), both projects set to debut in 2027.

After Karasuno High’s epic victory over Nekoma in the “Garbage Dump Battle,” the story moves directly to the quarterfinals of the Spring National Tournament. Here, Shoyo Hinata and his teammates face the fearsome Kamomedai High team and its star, Korai Hoshiumi, a player known as “The Little Giant.” The new promotional visual pits both spikers against each other at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, locking eyes with intensity that promises a legendary showdown to prove who is the true heir to the legendary player.

The special episode focuses on another thrilling quarterfinal match: the clash between Fukurodani Academy and Mujinazaka High. The newly released footage shows the collision between two national-level aces, Kotaro Bokuto and Hachi Kiryu, highlighting powerful spikes and the tactical strategies of their respective setters, Keiji Akaashi and Mitsuru Usuri. Both projects will again be directed and written by Susumu Mitsunaka under the production of acclaimed studio Production I.G, maintaining the standard that turned Haruichi Furudate’s original manga into one of the most influential sports works in the anime industry.
