NC (formerly NCSoft) is now inviting applications for the upcoming closed beta test of DynamisOne’s Astrae Oratio. Prospective participants can submit their applications through the official portal until September 21 at 03:00 UTC. The beta test will be accessible on both iOS and Android devices, with the specific testing window to be disclosed in the future.
Astrae Oratio is an RPG that merges “bureaucracy and magic.” It is set in Tokyo during 1889, a time of swift postwar economic expansion. The game portrays a society where individuals with magical abilities coexist with everyday citizens. Players assume the role of a junior local government official who is unexpectedly assigned to the enigmatic Special District Office. This organization governs all aspects of Tokyo’s magical realm. As the designated authority for the city’s magic users, the protagonist must navigate various challenges involving magical girls residing in Tokyo.
Based on early previews, the gameplay features 3D turn-based combat, while the narrative unfolds through visual novel segments that include dialogue options.
The forthcoming CBT will be conducted worldwide prior to Astrae Oratio’s official release to refine the game’s quality and integrate player input. It will be compatible with iOS and Android platforms, offering Japanese voiceovers and English subtitles. Testers will be chosen via a lottery system from those who complete the CBT application survey on the official portal. After the application period ends on September 21, selected participants will receive an email confirming their test access and a guide. Notifications will be dispatched in waves.
