This new installment won’t try to revive ghosts of the past but will present a self-contained story of ten episodes focused on a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge amid the blinding spectacle of the metropolis. The direction of this sequel marks the debut of talented Kai Ikarashi as lead director, featuring the return of Bartosz Sztybor in production and Masahiko Otsuka in scriptwriting, while Ichigo Kanno took on the design of new characters. The musical score will again be a true work of art, including the theme “YOU CAN’T RUN FROM ME” by rapper Rico Nasty in the trailer, plus the 1978 classic “10:15 Saturday Night” by The Cure as the opening theme and “Watson” by Petite Meller as the ending theme.

About Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Originally released in September 2022 by Studio Trigger and CD PROJEKT RED, this anime based on the world of the video game Cyberpunk 2077 became a true jewel of modern animation thanks to its relentless pace, visceral violence, and stunning visuals. The franchise demonstrated such a massive impact that it expanded its universe in December 2024 with the publication of the original manga prequel titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Madness, solidifying itself as one of the strongest pillars of contemporary animated science fiction.

With a luxury soundtrack and a new cast of characters ready to burn Night City to the ground, do you think this second season will achieve the enormous emotional impact the original story left us with?
