Project Aces unveiled a fresh teaser on September 8, offering a glimpse into the online lobby of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. The developers confirmed that Season 1 will feature playable versions of four iconic Namco arcade games: Pac-Man, Galaga, Rally-X, and Dragon Spirit.
The Air Base Lobby in Ace Combat 8 serves as the hub for players to find matches, launch missions, or engage in military training with up to four participants. It’s also a space to socialize with fellow pilots via chat, enjoy classic Ace Combat soundtracks through the Jukebox, and notably, play genuine arcade games. The Namco titles announced are part of Season 1’s offerings, suggesting more content will follow in future updates.
Notably, Ace Combat brand director Kazutoki Kono shed light on the inclusion of Dragon Spirit, explaining that the development team became captivated by the game mid-production. However, none of them managed to progress beyond stage three.
Additionally, those who pre-order Ace Combat 8 will receive a port of Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War, effectively bundling multiple games together.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is set to launch on October 2 for PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X❘S.
