Lilith Games has revealed WonderPaws, an upcoming urban life simulation crafted by studio Cat Paw Latte. This new title is set to launch as a free-to-play experience on PC (Steam), iOS, and Android platforms. The exact release date remains to be announced.
WonderPaws unfolds in a bustling metropolis populated entirely by anthropomorphic animals known as Paw Pals. The cityscape, featuring towering skyscrapers and vibrant neon streets, serves as a habitat for diverse animal residents. The urban design is carefully tailored to accommodate their varying sizes, behaviors, and lifestyles.
As a human protagonist, you arrive in this city and begin your new life sharing a residence with Paw Pal roommates. The animal inhabitants each possess distinct emotions, personalities, and occupations, positioning them as companions rather than mere pets. The game’s trailer suggests that players will have the freedom to personalize their apartment’s interior. You can even convene with your animal roommates in the living room to brainstorm decoration ideas. They might occasionally surprise you with unconventional suggestions.
The gameplay centers on immersing yourself in daily life through city exploration, friendship building, home cooking, and career pursuits. For instance, spotting an audition notice for pop idols around town could prompt you to invite friends to apply. Alternatively, you might assume the role of an honorary mayor at Town Hall, addressing the concerns of various animal residents. The trailer also showcases the player working in shops.
Primarily, players navigate the city as humans, with all animals appearing as non-playable characters. However, during your journey, you can acquire a “magic potion” that grants you the ability to transform into an animal upon consumption. In this animal form, you can visit a human friend’s home, await their care, receive affectionate head scratches, and more. Exploring the city in your animal guise unlocks new experiences, such as using the town’s massive street-side grooming machines to groom your fur or frolicking in a sandbox.
WonderPaws is currently under development for PC (Steam), iOS, and Android. Pre-registrations are available via the official website, with playtests scheduled for the future.
