A fresh installment in the Night Shift Nurses adult visual novel series was unveiled on October 15. Entitled Night Shift Nurses Online –New Operation– (unofficial translation), this new live-service game is set to launch on Fanza Games for PC and via GAMES STORE for Android devices.
The original Night Shift Nurses debuted in 1999 for Windows 95/98, crafted by the now-disbanded visual novel studio Mink. Its dark narrative and explicit material garnered significant attention, propelling the game and its franchise into one of the studio’s most renowned creations. It later inspired adaptations into anime and other media. FG Remake, a division of FANZA/DMM.com focused on revitalizing classic visual novels, brought the title back in 2024. Publisher Shiravune subsequently acquired the remake, leading to its English debut on Steam.
The upcoming Night Shift Nurses Online is a free-to-play card-based RPG with a new protagonist, distinct from the original series lead. As a medical student, the protagonist looked up to Ryuuji Hirasaka, the hero of earlier installments. A decade later, now a practicing physician, he receives an invitation from Hirasaka to assist in setting up a “special ward” as planned.
Shifting from the traditional visual novel structure, Night Shift Nurses Online is presented as an adventure game. Its core gameplay blends hospital exploration with automated card battles. Players traverse the hospital seeking specific characters, with combat resolved using pre-built decks. Cards are acquired via a gacha system, and victories advance the storyline.
The game’s official X account has announced a pre-registration event on its website (link is NSFW and 18+). Participants can win gacha prizes and DMM Points Lottery Tickets, with a total of 1 million DMM points up for grabs among over 4,000 winners.
The release date for Night Shift Nurse Online -New Operation- remains unannounced, and no details on a global/English-language version have been disclosed. Pre-registrations are currently live.
