From the creators of Date A Live: King’s Proposal anime to debut in 2027
The light novel adaptation produced by Aniplex will hit screens in 2027.
The creators of one of the most beloved romantic comedies and science fiction series of the past decade are set to conquer the small screen with a completely new proposal. Company Aniplex officially presented the first details for the anime adaptation of King’s Proposal (Ousama no Propose), confirming that the series will premiere sometime in 2027 and revealing the renowned voice actress who will lead the main cast.

During a special presentation, the distributor shared a first promotional image of the project along with confirmation that talented Rie Takahashi will voice the protagonist, Saika Kuozaki. The story introduces Saika as the world’s most powerful mage, the only one capable of stopping mysterious entities that attempt to destroy the planet every 300 hours. However, after being critically injured in battle, she decides to pass on her powers and her own body to an ordinary high school student named Mushiki Kuga.
Having the skills of the supreme witch doesn’t mean knowing how to master them, so young Mushiki will be forced to enroll in a magic academy taking on Saika’s physical appearance. His mission will not only be to learn to control this immense power to save humanity but also to keep his true male identity hidden from the world. This anticipated anime revives the project that was first announced during a live stream in October 2025, beginning to take shape ahead of its definitive release in 2027.
