A brand new book café focused on yuri is scheduled to debut in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro later this month, providing visitors with access to one of Japan’s most extensive yuri collections, as noted by Yuri Navi.
The organization behind the popular annual yuri exhibition “Yuriten,” LILIUM, has revealed that its upcoming location, Atelier LILIUM, will officially launch on May 28, 2026. Situated just a five-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station’s East Exit, the book café will offer a 38-seat area and contain over 4,000 yuri and related titles.
The collection covers manga, novels, and magazines, featuring everything from timeless classics to the latest releases. The company states that the library will grow post-opening, establishing the venue as a central spot for yuri enthusiasts.

In addition to standard café services, Atelier LILIUM will also organize exhibitions, creator discussions, autograph meetings, and screenings, along with selling exclusive merchandise. Seasonal displays and other themed activities are in the works as well.
LILIUM’s press release indicates that the launch of Atelier Lilum coincides with “increasing interest in yuri across various media, including anime, live-action shows, and films.” The company believes its “Yuriten” exhibition, first introduced in 2016, has contributed to this growth by linking creators and fans through events across Japan.
Details regarding Atelier Lilium’s grand opening and upcoming events will be shared through the official website and X profile.
