The official website for the second season of Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. (Kabushiki Gaisha Magilumiere) has just released a new promotional trailer. This preview not only confirms that the sequel will air on Japanese television next 4 July, but also lets us hear the excellent work of the new actress taking over Hitomi Koshigaya’s role for the first time.

As many will recall, talented Yumiri Hanamori left the role in February after a mutual agreement with her agency. Now, the production committee has officially confirmed her replacement for the upcoming summer season, adding new talent to expand the cast of this peculiar company:

• Mariko Higashiuchi as Hitomi Koshigaya.Taking on the challenge of portraying our veteran magical girl, promising to keep the character’s corporate strength intact.
• Sayumi Watabe as Iroha Akasaka.Known in otaku culture for voicing Akira Tachibana in After the Rain, joining as the series’ new addition.

Mariko Higashiuchi herself shared her immense excitement about joining this magical girl world. For her, Hitomi is incredibly cool and has a heart of gold, highlighting that behind her typical phrase “Easy Victory” lie countless struggles and failures she never shows in the office. Her goal is to convey all that determination and charm to fans who already adored the character from the first season.

Hololive adds rhythm to the corporate ending

But surprises in the recording booth don’t end there. If you’re a regular consumer of VTuber content, you’ll be happy to know that the ending theme (ending), titled “BooooM!!!”, will be performed by none other than Houshou Marine, the iconic and bold pirate of the Hololive agency. Her overflowing musical energy fits perfectly with the frantic and humorous tone of these corporate battles against supernatural disasters.

In a world where supernatural natural disasters known as “Kaii” are a constant threat, the job of “Magical Girl” has ceased to be a fairy tale to become a highly admired, well-paid profession regulated by major corporations. The story follows Kana Sakuragi, a recently graduated university student suffering from stress trying to find a job. Her life takes a radical turn when, during a disastrous job interview, she is caught in a deadly Kaii attack. There, she is rescued by Hitomi Koshigaya, a delinquent-style magical girl who works for the startup company Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. After discovering Kana has innate talent for magic and crisis management, the company quickly recruits her. Now, Kana must learn to survive in the demanding work world while fighting monsters alongside her eccentric office colleagues.
