Arc System Works has revealed plans to establish a new development hub in Tokyo, Japan, set to commence operations on November 2. The studio, situated in Shinjuku, will be officially titled Arc System Works Tokyo Studio ‘Takumi’.

As detailed in the official statement, the creation of this new studio is part of Arc System Works’ strategy to “significantly enhance development capabilities” for its upcoming projects, starting with a new fighting game selected for the “IP360” initiative, which is backed by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

This yet-to-be-announced fighting game has been referenced in prior METI communications, though limited details are available at this time. What is known is that the project features an original intellectual property and employs ArcSys’s hallmark cel-shaded anime aesthetic.

Alongside the launch of the Takumi studio, Arc System Works is intensifying its hiring drive, now accepting applications for numerous roles within the gaming industry.
