Trying to cancel your engagement and end up making your fiancé more interested in you is the kind of karma that only exists in otome games. And now it comes to anime. Even Though She’s a Timid Young Lady to the Max, She Agreed to Her Shrewd Fiancé’s Bet (Yowaki MAX Reijo nanoni, Ratsuwan Konyakusha-sama no Kake ni Notte Shimatta) has just confirmed its debut in October 2026, releasing its first trailer, three new voice cast members, and the full production team for the first time.

The announcement, alongside the trailer, revealed that Miku Ito and Ryota Osaka reprise their roles as Pia Rockwell and Rufus Stan respectively, the same characters they voiced in the audio dramas accompanying the light novels. Three new members now join them to complete the main cast of this reincarnation romance set in the nobility of an otome game.

Production Team

Director Nobuaki Nakanishi leads the project at studio Jumondo, with Hiroko Fukuda overseeing the scripts to maintain the light and witty tone of the original work. Hyun Sik Choi handles character design, while the music is a collaboration between Moe Hyuga and Natsuki Hamada.

Even Though She’s a Timid Young Lady began as a web novel by Hiro Oda in January 2020, with only nine main chapters before it ended. It then moved to light novels with illustrations by Tsubasa.v in August of the same year, reaching seven published volumes. The manga adaptation, drawn by Aji Murata, has five compiled volumes and continues serialization. Across all editions, the franchise exceeds 1.2 million copies in circulation. The story follows a university student reincarnated as Pia, a minor villainess in an otome game who remembers perfectly that her fate is to lose her engagement to the prime minister’s son and be exiled. Her plan to avoid it: ask Rufus to cancel everything when they are both children. Her mistake: that only made Rufus more interested in her and led him to propose a seven-year bet to decide if the engagement continues or not.
