Renowned South Korean game developer and publisher Neowiz has recently revealed that Jason Park (Park Sung Jun), who leads the company’s New Game Development Group and serves as director of Lies of P developer Round8 Studio, has been chosen as its incoming CEO (source: Inven Global). Park is set to assume his new role after a shareholders meeting in August, joining current CEO Bae Tae-geun in a co-CEO leadership model.

This decision will mark a historic first for Neowiz, as Park will be the first individual with a developer background to helm the company as CEO. Neowiz stated that this move aims to bolster the organization’s development expertise and execution capabilities while expanding its portfolio of upcoming projects. The company plans to concentrate its efforts on creating new titles and broadening its international footprint.

Park has been an integral part of Neowiz for more than ten years. His career at the company began with a role as development director at Neowiz CRS in 2013, followed by his tenure as head of the console development division at Neowiz Bless Studio. In 2019, he took on the position of director at Round8 Studio, and since 2023, he has overseen Neowiz’s New Game Development Group, guiding the studio’s next-generation development initiatives. Park is also recognized for his significant contributions to Lies of P and its expansion, Lies of P: Overture.

Even as Park prepares to take on the responsibilities of CEO, he will maintain his position as head of the New Game Development Group. By juggling both roles, he intends to synchronize the creative direction of major projects with the company’s business strategy. Given his ongoing involvement in development, it’s plausible that he may play a role in the highly anticipated Lies of P sequel, which is currently undergoing full-scale development. Additionally, several other Neowiz projects are in production, including an unannounced soulslike title, a life simulation game, a survival action-adventure game, and a story-driven RPG—all of which were detailed in Neowiz’s 2025 investor presentation
