Even as the Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve walkthrough trailer impressed audiences with its gameplay and vistas, one character in particular captured the spotlight: Tasha Seversky. The blonde- and pink-haired, energetic member of Joker Flight serves as one of your wingmen in the upcoming game. Recent updates have shed light on Tasha’s backstory, along with the voice talents bringing her to life.
Currently holding the rank of second lieutenant in Joker Flight—an elite Navy air squadron under the Federation of Central Usea (FCU)—Tasha originally gained fame as the star pilot of the Zvezda aerial acrobatic team from the fictional nation of Yuktobania. During a promotional video shoot aboard the Endurance aircraft carrier, an unexpected conflict erupted between the Republic of Sotoa and the FCU, leaving her stranded on the vessel. Tasha’s piloting expertise, combined with the Endurance crew’s dire circumstances, led her to join Joker Flight as Joker 3.
Voicing Tasha in Japanese is Chika Anzai, recognized for her work as Chisa Kotegawa (Grand Blue), Chisato Nishikigi (Lycoris Recoil), and Chise Asukagawa (Gridman Universe). Her English counterpart is Emi Lo, known for portraying Lucy Kushinada (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners), Maomao (The Apothecary Diaries), and Teoritta (Sentenced to Be a Hero).
Players will need to wait until at least September to experience Ace Combat 8 firsthand, but producer Kazutoki Kono recently highlighted the game’s first-person cinematic mode. As noted in a quote from Bandai Namco’s Tasha X post, this feature lets you control your field of view and zoom in and out. While Kono doesn’t specify further, it suggests an invitation to closely observe Tasha.
Ace Combat 8: Winds of Theve is scheduled for release on October 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows (Steam). The Deluxe Edition grants early access up to three days prior to launch.
