HazeDenki, a fresh gaming studio launched by the mind behind Needy Streamer Overload, nyalra, has secured a worldwide publishing deal for its upcoming supernatural “little sister” visual novel, Sister Other Paranoia. The announcement came from Serenity Forge, a publisher based in Boulder, Colorado, on June 17, accompanied by a fresh trailer.
Although nyalra is still immersed in crafting the anime adaptation of his prior work, he assures followers that progress on Sister Other Paranoia is steady. He intends to unveil more details about Sister Other Paranoia “all at once” by the end of June, coinciding with the finale of the Needy Girl Overdose anime. nyalra will also discuss the game further at this year’s Anime Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California, USA.
As the inaugural title of two currently in development by HazeDenki, Sister Other Paranoia centers on an unnamed light novel author who, because of his heightened sensitivity to others’ emotions, gains the power to read minds. After clinching a prestigious writer’s award, the envious thoughts of those around him push him deeper into isolation and suspicion.
His sole comfort comes from his white-haired younger sister. While the protagonist is constantly surrounded by the negative thoughts of others, he always finds warmth from his sister at day’s end. As they lean on each other, they gradually form a toxic reliance where neither can function without the other.
Beyond perceiving negative thoughts, the protagonist can also manipulate his ability to compel others toward self-destruction. Although there is no confirmation of multiple endings yet, the game’s themes make it hard to picture a cheerful resolution. Given that Sister Other Paranoia’s official X account is rife with cryptic messages from the protagonist’s “sister,” fans will welcome some concrete information about the game.
Sister Other Paranoia is slated for a 2026 release on Windows and macOS (Steam).
