Arc System Works has unveiled a trailer for Demons’ Night Fever, an upcoming RPG crafted by Sohei Niikawa – the former Nippon Ichi Software CEO and mastermind behind the Disgaea series. The game is slated for a 2026 release on PC (Steam), PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
Demons’ Night Fever is a “speedrun-training SRPG” inspired by traditional grid-based strategy games. The narrative centers on Giga Super Death, the world’s most malevolent devil, who unexpectedly transforms into a defenseless infant. After striking a peculiar alliance with Killshiro Katanaka, a somber young man who loathes the world, he embarks on a quest to unleash chaos and perform every imaginable evil act to restore his lost power.
During the game’s training phases, players will nurture Giga Super Death and his underlings in preparation for combat. Advancement is fueled by nefarious actions. By engaging in deeds such as dubious Adbuctions and Pillaging, players will accumulate “Perverse Points” to allocate toward leveling characters and constructing Giga Super Death’s sinister army.

Combat unfolds in a grid-based SRPG style, though with notable innovations. The goal is to defeat the game’s bosses and ultimately the world’s “false” God, but battles hinge on the Peon Exploitation System, which allows players to sacrifice allied minions. Employing Kill Skills and Sacrifices, which involve detonating underlings, offers the swiftest path to victory. Regardless of allegiance, the more units perish, the more powerful players become.
A collaboration between Drecom and SuperNiche, Demon’s Night Fever is overseen by Sohei Niikawa, with an original concept and storyline by Roman Kitayama (who is also Sohei Niikawa, under a pseudonym). The game’s soundtrack is composed by Tatsuya Yano, known for the Atelier series, while character designs are by Yuji Himukai (Etrian Odyssey).
Demons’ Night Fever is scheduled for a 2026 release on PC (Steam), PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
