Kodansha Game Creators’ Lab and photo magazine FRIDAY have revealed that the live-action romance sim Sweet Hamster Days, is set to finally launch on July 17 on Steam after navigating challenges with the platform.
Sweet Hamster Days (whose Japanese title roughly translates to “My Sweet Days with Three Sisters After Reincarnating as a Hamster”) follows Kota, a man who finds himself reborn as a hamster following an anime-inspired traffic accident. By chance, Kota becomes the new pet of the Shiratori sisters, his childhood friends. Now known as Hamta, Kota lives as a hamster while interacting with the sisters, whose bond has weakened since he last saw them.
The Shiratori sisters – Himari, Futaba, and Miyu – are portrayed by Japanese gravure idol Sayaka Tomaru, actress Momoka Takatsuru, and Shiori Ikemoto of idol group Tera Tera, respectively. While most of your time is spent napping, cuddling, and enjoying snacks, your choices help uncover the secrets behind the girls’ troubles. Should you manage to make the sisters happy, you’ll be rewarded with “sexy and cute” 4K videos of them. The game is marked as containing “frequent nudity or sexual content,” so player discretion is advised.

Sweet Hamster Days was first announced in August 2025 with an October 2025 release date. However, the original Steam page would be removed in October “due to various circumstances”, with the release postponed indefinitely. The page became available again in April 2026, with a revised July launch and a playable demo releasing the following month. With the July 17 release finalized, here’s to hoping that players will finally be able to live the life of a charming rodent.
Sweet Hamster Days is set to release on July 17 for Windows (Steam). A free demo is also available.
