Capcom has revealed that Onimusha: Way of the Sword will now launch on September 4, bringing forward the initial release date of September 25. 

As part of this schedule adjustment, the pre-order incentive – featuring the Lion Dog charm and Sealed Curse sword cosmetic – will be available to early purchasers. Gamers on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Store, and Nintendo Switch 2 have until September 24 at 11:59 pm local time to secure the game and claim the bonus, whereas Steam and Epic Games Store customers have until September 25 at 4:59 pm PT. 

The free demo launched last month will receive an update to align with the new launch timeline, though it will not introduce new content. Players with save data from the demo can still obtain the promised in-game item upon the full game’s release. 

With numerous titles scheduled for September and October, advancing Onimusha: Way of the Sword’s release could help it gain more attention amid the crowded lineup. The franchise’s long-standing legacy combined with the new title’s enhanced gameplay has fans eagerly anticipating its arrival. 

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is set to arrive on September 4 for Windows (SteamMicrosoft StoreEpic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
