Studio Trigger’s panel during Anime Expo activities made it clear that the hunger for adventures is far from over. The production committee behind the animated adaptation of Delicious in Dungeon (known worldwide by the Japanese community as Dungeon Meshi) officially announced that its second season will land in October 2027. To ensure the international audience can enjoy this feast without regional restrictions, it was confirmed that new episodes will be exclusively streamed on Netflix, accompanied by an unusual and striking main visual.

To maintain the exquisite fluidity that amazed everyone during its massive 24-episode broadcast earlier in 2024, the creative core will remain unchanged. Yoshihiro Miyajima retains the role of general director, working closely with Kimiko Ueno on scripting. The spectacular designs of monsters and ingredients will continue to be adapted to the screen by Naoki Takeda in character design, while the masterful original soundtrack will remain under the strict supervision and composition of renowned Yasunori Mitsuda.

Ryōko Kui’s legacy continues to expand

This massive media and gastronomic success originates from the impeccable pages of the manga written and illustrated by Ryōko Kui. Originally serialized in Kadokawa’s Harta magazine from February 2014 until its epic conclusion in September 2023, the premise of Laios and his group devouring slimes, basilisks, and dragons to survive in the dungeon gave classic fantasy a breath of originality. To maintain commercial momentum until the sequel’s release, the franchise will keep its weekly radio program active and launch multiple art exhibitions dedicated to the original manuscripts at North American conventions.
