Fakku, a US-based publisher specializing in adult manga and games, made an announcement during their Anime Expo panel on July 5th. The company revealed that they have secured the rights to the complete back catalogue of PC games from eroge developer Fairytale, including titles from their sister brand Cocktail Soft. This acquisition means that several of these classic titles will be receiving modern Windows PC ports with full English language support.
Leading the lineup of upcoming releases is Dengeki Nurse, a 1992 title that was originally released on NEC PC-98 computers before being ported to Fujitsu FM Towns later that same year. The game is known for its vibrant, energetic art style and a rather unconventional storyline involving a hospital, an international criminal organization, female assassins, and tokusatsu-style heroes. Players can expect a mix of point-and-click adventure gameplay and quirky turn-based RPG combat.
In comparison to other titles by Fairytale, Dengeki Nurse is relatively mild in terms of adult content, featuring minimal explicit material. There are a few instances of nudity and suggestive situations, which still classify it as an 18+ game. Fakku has not yet disclosed whether the adult elements will be included in the standard Steam version or if they will be delivered through a separate patch, a common practice among publishers of Japanese eroge on Steam.
It’s worth noting that Fairytale and Cocktail Soft, collectively referred to as F&C, were influential figures in the early era of Japanese adult computer games. Their notable works include Can Can Bunny and the controversial Saori: Bishojo-tachi no Yakata. Their most celebrated title, however, is likely Pia Carrot e Youkoso!! ~We’ve Been Waiting For You~, which grew into a franchise with numerous ports, sequels, and anime adaptations.
The original Pia Carrot is among the games set to arrive on PC via Fakku, joined by horror games such as Dead of the Brain 1&2, Necronomicon, Marine Philt, A Man Called DRACULA, and others.
