Japanese indie studio Actor has recently revealed that their anticipated ghost spanking game, Spanking Exorcist, has faced an indefinite postponement. The title was initially scheduled for a July 24 launch, but the Steam approval process has extended beyond expectations. The developer disclosed that they have been in dialogue with Steam concerning the game’s provocative content for the past month, with no resolution in sight yet.
Since Steam has not yet given the green light to Spanking Exorcist, the likelihood of it launching on any specific date remains low, though not entirely out of the question. While a revised release date has not been set, Actor has assured fans that they are working diligently to make the game available as soon as feasible. Notably, Spanking Exorcist has recently amassed over 7,000 Wishlists on Steam.
Spanking Exorcist casts you as Ioto Shirihataki, a specialized spanking exorcist charged with cleansing the Peach Butt Housing Complex of malevolent spirits. The complex is haunted by the spirits of housewives whose lingering desire was to be “spanked with maximum intensity.” Your role as the exorcist involves locating these female spirits and “granting their wishes” by delivering spanks to their rear ends.
Besides the female ghosts, the complex is also plagued by hostile spirits who have no interest in buttock-spanking. Consequently, gameplay involves evading (and occasionally battling) these evil entities while administering your distinctive brand of exorcism to the housewife apparitions.
Spanking Exorcist is slated for Windows (Steam). Although a new release date has not been announced, the project remains in development.
