Renowned Japanese bishojo game developer Yuzusoft revealed during its Yuzusoft SONGFES 2026 event that the beloved romance visual novel Senren Banka is set to receive an anime adaptation, slated for release in 2027.

First launched for Windows in Japan in July 2016, Senren Banka tells the tale of Masaomi Arichi, a second-year high school student who unwittingly shatters an “indestructible” sword embedded in a stone while visiting the secluded mountain village of Hoori. As penance for this mishap, Masaomi is compelled to wed the shrine maiden Yoshino Tomotake. As he navigates his newfound life and relationship, he uncovers more about the village’s mysterious “curse” and forms bonds with three additional girls.

The original Japanese voice cast from the visual novel will reprise their roles in the anime. This lineup features Sora Haruka as Yoshino Tomotake, Yuka Kotorii as Mako Hitachi, Mikan Sato as Murasame, and Sawa Sawasawa as Lena Liechtenauer. Additionally, Kotoko, who composed the visual novel’s opening track, will perform the anime’s opening theme song.

Although Yuzusoft has been operating since 2006, Senren Banka marks the studio’s first title to receive an anime adaptation. Earlier this year in February, it was announced that the game has sold over one million copies globally, nearly a decade after its initial launch. The game’s recent achievements, coupled with the anime announcement, make this an exciting period for Senren Banka enthusiasts.

Senren Banka is available on Windows (Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
