Who hasn’t felt that uncontrollable urge to devour an entire feast after a long day at the office? Production TOHO animation surprised the community with a creative reveal: after streaming a one-hour cooking video loop, they officially announced that the successful manga I Love Dokagui! Mochizuki-san (Dokagui Daisuki! Mochizuki-san) will get its own animated adaptation. To celebrate this quirky culinary milestone, its creator Kamome Maruyono shared a special commemorative illustration on social media.

The story follows Mikoto Mochizuki, a 21-year-old office worker in the sales department who maintains a perfect facade of being sweet, calm, and highly polite to her colleagues. However, in the privacy of her solitude, Mikoto hides a monstrous appetite. Her greatest happiness in life is gorging herself on colossal portions of rich, heavy, greasy food until her blood sugar levels skyrocket. This absurd comedy follows her daily life and everyday situations that push her to seek that bodily ecstasy she gets from eating so wildly.

Passione takes control of the animation

The studio Passione will bring these indulgent gluttony sessions to life, likely perfectly illustrating the protagonist’s expressions of satisfaction. Although Maruyono’s work only began publishing in May 2024 via Hakusensha, it quickly became a highly praised gem among readers. Proof of this, the manga was nominated in the 18th edition of the Manga Taisho awards, made it into the coveted top 20 for male readers in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guide, and shone in the Next Manga Awards. With a fourth compiled volume set for September 29, fans await the committee’s reveal of the premiere date and voice cast.
