If you thought being a tired office worker was boring, imagine coming home with a talking bird that turns out to be a wise being from another world with magical powers. The animated adaptation of Sasaki and Peeps (Sasaki to Pii-chan) has revealed all the news for its awaited second season, confirming its premiere for October 7 along with a new promotional trailer and visual image.

The first official trailer offered a preview of the opening theme titled “Unbroken,” performed by the group MADKID. Additionally, the production announced the addition of two new voices to the cast: Tasuku Hatanaka voicing Himegami-kun and Yu Sasahara as Eriel. These additions join the return of the main cast led by Tomokazu Sugita as Sasaki and Aoi Yuki as Pii-chan, alongside Akari Kito as Otonari-san, Rie Takahashi as Hoshizaki, Naomi Ozora as Shizuka Futari, Miyu Tomita as Elsa, and Inori Minase as Magical Pink.

Behind the scenes, some interesting changes occur at studio SILVER LINK., as Yushi Ibe takes over as chief director for this installment after having served as episode director in the previous season. Yamato Ouchi will assist in direction, while Kazunori Ozawa will oversee action scenes. Script writing and supervision continue under the hand of Deko Akao, with Saori Nakashiki handling character design and music composition supervised by producers Koji Fujimoto and Osamu Sasaki.

Written by Buncololi and illustrated by Kantoku, the light novel series began its publication in January 2021 under Kadokawa’s editorial label, featuring a manga adaptation drawn by Pureji Osho starting the same year. The franchise made its anime debut with a first season aired in January 2024, which began with a one-hour special and concluded with twelve episodes.

The story follows Sasaki, an office employee whose life consists of routine and workplace exhaustion. Seeking companionship, he decides to buy a bird from a pet store, discovering the creature is actually a powerful sage from a fantasy world. After being granted magical abilities and the ability to travel between dimensions, Sasaki tries to use his new powers to achieve a quiet and comfortable life, though a series of eccentric characters and supernatural incidents constantly ruin his plans.
