Game Source Entertainment has revealed the forthcoming horror title Noroi Ayashi: The ∞th Oddity, set to debut in 2027 across PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.
Noroi Ayashi: The ∞th Oddity is described as a “time-loop horror RTA stealth action adventure game,” where RTA stands for Real Time Attack—a term commonly used in Japan to denote speedrunning. The narrative unfolds at U High School, a place steeped in an old legend of the school’s “seven mysteries” that has been recounted for generations. Additionally, students whisper an urban legend claiming that “if you perform a specific ritual, a cursed doll named Aya will materialize and curse the person you despise to death.”
Players assume the role of Seira, a member of the U High School Journalism Club, as she delves into the enigma surrounding the legend of Cursed Doll Aya. The gameplay is presented from an isometric viewpoint, with players navigating the school during nighttime. The seven mysteries manifest as supernatural entities within the school, each requiring unique procedures to evade and “seal.” You’ll need to meticulously explore every corner of the pitch-black school while collecting clues and avoiding fatal encounters.
Regarding mortality in the game, developers assure that surviving the initial playthrough is nearly impossible. The gameplay centers on a cycle of relentless deaths, through which players gradually learn how to advance and sidestep avoidable errors.
Noroi Ayashi is being co-developed by Clover Lab, the team behind #holoReversi and MYRIAD DEATH, and Superniche, the creator of Etrange Overlord and the upcoming Demons’ Night Fever. The project is helmed by horror mangaka Rensuke Oshikiri (Hi Score Girls, Liverleaf, Sayuri) and Sohei Niikawa, the mind behind the Disgaea series (also known under the penname Roman Kitayama).
Noroi Ayashi: The ∞th Oddity is slated for release on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2 in 2027.
