Bandai Namco Entertainment has revealed plans to cease online services for the PvPvE mech extraction shooter Synduality: Echo of Ada around May 2027. The game will shift to an offline-only format, allowing players to transfer select save data and purchased items into a dedicated PvE extraction shooter mode.
No further online service updates will be provided after those scheduled for October 2026. Syn Coins, the game’s premium currency, can still be acquired until December 17 at 3 PM UTC (notably, Syn Coins expire 150 days after the next login following purchase). The data transfer feature enabling players to carry over some progress to the offline version is set to launch in December, with additional details to follow.
The precise date for the online service shutdown and the move to the offline version will be announced in March 2027. All current online features will be inaccessible after the transition.

Launched in January 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows (Steam), Synduality currently boasts an all-time peak of 3,622 concurrent players on Steam (via SteamDB). Although the game started strongly, criticism over its pay-to-play model, limited content, and harsh PvP mechanics (common in extraction shooters like item loss on death and unbalanced loadouts) led to a “Mixed” rating on Valve’s platform.
Nevertheless, the shift to a PvE-only offline mode appears to have sparked enthusiasm among Japanese fans. Many players attributed their dissatisfaction to the game’s PvP elements, particularly player killing that resulted in the loss of their favorite mechs. The exclusion of PvP has prompted several players to consider returning. While opinions vary, many believe PvP contributed to the game’s initial decline in popularity. As one commenter stated, “For over 90% of players, the PvP was a reason to quit. They should make the offline mode available sooner without waiting for the end of online services. Many would play if there were no PvP, which could actually boost the playerbase.” Another user added, “I’ve always advocated for PvE from the start, but it wasn’t available. Perhaps the offline version they’re developing will cause a significant increase in concurrent players. I’d definitely play an offline mode focused solely on PvE.”
Only time will reveal how well Synduality’s offline version performs, but for now, the change in direction seems to be resonating with fans.
Synduality Echo of Ada is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
