Shochiku Games has announced that the 3D roguelite action title Eternal Palace Sakura will debut on November 5 for Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). A crowdfunding initiative has also been launched in conjunction with the release date reveal.

Created by Japanese indie development group Denneko Yuugi, Eternal Palace Sakura follows Retla, a cat-eared dual-wielding warrior who explores a constantly shifting Japanese-inspired palace in search of a sacred artifact. The environments transform with each playthrough, along with the treasures, obstacles, and mysteries you uncover.

Retla wields twin blades that enable her to execute dazzling combos and perform swift evasive maneuvers. As you advance, you’ll unlock fresh abilities, weaponry, and enhancements that carry over to subsequent runs, allowing you to refine your combat approach.

The free demo of Eternal Palace Sakura features a basic tutorial that acquaints players with the game’s combat mechanics. Various distinctive foes let you gauge your skills, while potent items boost your capabilities and grant temporary advantages. A boss encounter is also available in the final stage. The most recent demo update boasts improved visuals and UI design, more accurate hit feedback, and additional content.

The developers have confirmed that the full version will feature over 20 enemy types (including new “Oni” variants), more than 50 enhancement items, randomized event chambers, and an endless mode with limitless levels to conquer.

The Eternal Palace Sakura crowdfunding drive on Campfire has currently raised 119,300 JPY toward its 500,000 JPY target. Funds will support the game’s production and the shipment of supporter rewards. Backers can receive game merchandise based on their pledge level, such as Steam download codes for early access, a credit mention, and a custom voice message from Retla’s Japanese voice actress. The campaign concludes on November 19.

Eternal Palace Sakura is scheduled to launch on November 5 for Nintendo Switch and Windows (Steam). A free demo is accessible on Steam.
