Being stuck indoors due to illness while the rest of the world moves on is no fun, but asking the universe for help sometimes brings quite strange answers. Production company Shochiku confirmed this Wednesday that the manga Yumeneconnect will make the leap to the small screen with its own animated adaptation, presenting its first video trailer and the first promotional image.

The story introduces Yuhi Takamiya, a sickly boy who hasn’t set foot in school since his first day of high school. Tired of the loneliness in his room, the young man makes a desperate plea for friends. As if the cosmos had been listening, a peculiar alien named Nano, from the planet Pokotsun, lands in front of him to completely change his routine. The visitor doesn’t come with plans to invade the planet, but with an aggressive sales strategy to offer him ridiculous products from across the universe, including the creature considered the most dangerous life form in the galaxy, turning the protagonist’s boring life into utter chaos.

For the voice cast, the production confirmed Yusuke Kobayashi (known for voicing Subaru Natsuki in Re:Zero and Senku Ishigami in Dr. Stone) as the suffering Yuhi Takamiya, while Yu Sasahara (who voiced Emilico in Shadows House) will voice the persistent saleswoman Nano.

In the technical department, animation will be handled by Studio Massket under the direction of Sota Yokote, who recently directed the third season of To Your Eternity. Supervision and scriptwriting will be done by Gigaemon Echikawa, while Yoshihiro Watanabe adapts the character designs for television. Finally, musical composition will be in the hands of Hayato Matsumura, with support from the record label Lantis in sound production.
