Japanese game developer and publisher Drecom has unveiled its consolidated financial forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2026. According to GameBiz, the company anticipates record-high year-on-year growth, with projected operating profit soaring by 257.2%. Drecom attributes this surge to its strategic shift toward self-published games and the exceptional performance of Wizardry Variants Daphne, which has emerged as its flagship title.

The report indicates a 38.3% year-on-year increase in sales, alongside significant jumps in operating and ordinary profit at 257.2% and 466.1% respectively. Although operational costs for Wizardry Variants Daphne have risen substantially due to recent multi-language support and expanded content additions, the revenue growth appears to have more than compensated for these expenses.

Game director Keisuke Kanayama discussed the development challenges with a publication last year, noting that maintaining servers and delivering new content placed considerable strain on the team, both financially and in terms of manpower. “Before launch, all our efforts were focused on improving the game. But after going live, the workload expands dramatically—from tuning game elements and fixing bugs to creating new Abysses and managing a larger team,” he explained. Despite the ongoing development challenges, Kanayama’s comments suggest that Wizardry Variants Daphne’s strong performance will ultimately benefit Drecom in the long term.
