Japanese publisher One or Eight and developer Team EARTHWARS have recently unveiled Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL, a village-building action RPG slated for a Steam release in winter 2026, with PS5 and Switch 2 versions expected in 2027.
Should the lengthy title evoke memories of an isekai anime or light novel, it’s no coincidence—Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL adopts a humorous approach to the genre. Upon your demise, a goddess rescues your soul, reincarnating you into the beleaguered fantasy realm of Luna. Here, the land lies in ruins under the cruel rule of the Demon King, leaving the populace with mere leftovers.

As a “Bounder,” a rare entity endowed with creative powers, you’re tasked by the goddess with restoring Luna to its former glory. Living as the Demon King’s next-door neighbor, you’ll gather resources, enlist allies, cultivate fields, and nurture your village. Yet, the Demon King—a pop idol herself—won’t idly watch your progress. Every time she hosts a concert in her castle, swarms of monsters will attack your village. You must rally your villagers and bolster defenses to repel these assaults, with victories over formidable bosses revealing Luna’s hidden secrets.

Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL offers over 20 classes and playstyles, including mage, warrior, guard, and farmer. Your class is determined by wearing hats infused with the goddess’s power, which you can also distribute to villagers to assign their roles. Furthermore, you can enhance your combat prowess by praying at Goddess Statues across the world, granting buffs like attack power, speed, and elemental effects.
Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL is scheduled for winter 2026 on PC (Steam). PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are planned for 2027.
