Rapper Snoop Dogg has made a notable appearance in the newest trailer for Stranger Than Heaven, showcasing his talents not just in the game’s theme song but also as a key character in the storyline. The track, titled “Stranger Than Heaven,” features Snoop alongside Ado, Sosuke Fujihara of Official Hige Dandism, and Tori Kelly, all of whom also star as characters within the game.
While Snoop Dogg’s involvement might come as a surprise to some, he is far from the only vocalist lending their voice to the game’s soundtrack. Ado, Sosuke Fujihara, and Tori Kelly join him in performing the theme song, each also taking on distinct roles within the narrative of Stranger Than Heaven.
Serving as a prequel to the Yakuza/Like A Dragon franchise, Stranger Than Heaven follows the journey of Makoto Daito, an American-Japanese protagonist, as he ventures to Japan in pursuit of a fresh start. After secretly boarding a ship with the enigmatic Yu Shinjo, the duo is uncovered by the ship’s captain, Orpheus, portrayed by Snoop Dogg. This encounter leads to Daito being taken under Orpheus’s wing as they delve into dubious ventures.

Stranger Than Heaven unfolds across multiple historical eras, including Kokura, Fukuoka in 1915, Kure, Hiroshima in 1929, Minami, Osaka in 1943, Atami, Shizuoka in 1951, and Kamurocho, Tokyo in 1965. Kamurocho, the latter setting, is a familiar locale for fans of the Like A Dragon series. The game promises a rich narrative, an innovative combat system, and a plethora of minigames to explore.
Stranger Than Heaven is slated for release in Winter 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows (Steam, Xbox on PC).
