Japanese studio Frontwing’s latest visual novel, Cocoro, is now available for Windows (Steam). Published alongside Good Smile Company, the game’s narrative was crafted by Asta Konno (Natsu no Ame, ATRI -My Dear Moments-, GINKA), with character designs by Akio Watanabe (Kantai Collection, The Fruit of Grisaia, Monogatari).
Cocoro unfolds in the ravaged city of Tsukumo, a world transformed by a global AI uprising. The tale centers on Hinata Mitsumine, a Tsukumo resident who once shared his childhood with a girl at the city’s botanical garden. After losing his mother at a young age, Hinata struggled with speech, but his bond with the girl helped him overcome his trauma and develop deep feelings for her. Before leaving Tsukumo, Hinata made a promise to marry the girl.

When Hinata returns to Tsukumo during summer break, he learns about a ghostly figure in the botanical garden who tends to the flowers. His search leads him to a humanoid girl who reveals she is already engaged, with her fiancé vowing to marry her when the flowers bloom. The girl dreams of becoming human to bring joy to her future husband.

Although Hinata recalls the girl (whom he calls “Cocoro”), she seems not to remember him. Over the summer, Hinata and the girl gradually reconnect and rediscover each other. Along the way, they meet several individuals—including Hinata’s childhood friends—who aid them in rebuilding their bond.
Cocoro is available for Windows (Steam). To celebrate its launch, the game is currently discounted until September 8. For additional details, visit the official Cocoro website.
