Japanese publisher Toei Animation and developer Studio 51 have revealed that Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel will launch on November 26 for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. The game’s Steam store page and official website have also been made available.
Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel is based on the 2014 original animated film Expelled from Paradise (Rakuen Tsuihou -Expelled from Paradise-) directed by Seiji Mizushima and written by Gen Urobuchi. Set in a distant future where humanity resides in cyberspace due to a global macro-disaster, the narrative follows Angela Balzac, a security operative dispatched to the physical world after a string of enigmatic hacking incidents that endanger the inhabitants of the virtual realm.

Taking place after the events of the original film, Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel serves as a bridge between the first film’s conclusion and an upcoming feature-length sequel set to debut on November 13. The game’s scenario is penned by Shotaro Teshirogi, who previously authored the light novel Expelled from Paradise: mission 0, which acted as a prequel to the 2014 movie.

Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel notably incorporates an emotion-driven choice system called the “K2-system,” which activates during key plot moments throughout the game. This feature lets players choose between emotional decisions that highlight Angela’s human bonds, labeled “KIZUNA,” and choices that emphasize her commitment to objectives, known as “KAKUGO.” The narrative’s outcomes vary based on player decisions, with the Steam store page cautioning that “some paths lead to endings from which there is no turning back.”
Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel is scheduled to release for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch on November 26. The game will support both English and Japanese languages at launch.
