When health takes its toll, no amount of willpower matters. Mangaka Negi Haruba, known for creating The Quintessential Quintuplets, has had to pause and indefinitely suspend the publication of his current work, Go! Go! Loser Ranger! (Sentai Daishikkaku), due to health complications.

The news was confirmed in the 47th issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, where it was detailed that the manga will take a break with no scheduled return date. This interruption comes at a delicate time for fans, as the series only resumed publication on September 24 after a break that started in July. Additionally, the story is in its final narrative arc since March of this year, a crucial segment that has been interrupted multiple times by the author’s ongoing physical issues.

In a personal message to readers, Haruba was candid about the situation he has faced over the past months. The creator admitted that since the beginning of the year, he forced his body to keep going, trying to convince himself he was fine despite feeling unwell. However, realizing his condition wasn’t improving, he decided to step back to focus fully on medical treatment, apologizing to readers and promising to gradually resume serialization once he regains strength.

Go! Go! Loser Ranger! is an action, sci-fi, and dark comedy manga by Negi Haruba. It began serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine in February 2021, offering a fresh take on the tokusatsu and super sentai genre by putting the audience in the villains’ shoes.

The story follows D, a low-ranking monster soldier who decides to rebel against the false narrative of peace imposed on Earth. After being defeated years ago, monsters are forced to stage humiliating weekly battles to maintain the Dragon Keepers’ hero status. Determined to end this charade, D infiltrates the heroes’ squad to destroy them from within, unleashing a chaotic game of deception and strategy.
