A newly announced game venture from Koei Tecmo Games, currently referred to as FUJI, has surfaced via an official catalog of initiatives chosen by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) under the “IP360” program.
IP360 is a state-backed scheme launched in March 2026 designed to back the creation of fresh intellectual properties (IPs) across popular Japanese cultural exports such as video games, manga, and anime. The program offers financial aid and assistance for the production of original IPs or their worldwide distribution, with the objective of expanding Japan’s homegrown content sector.
The latest roster released by METI reveals the names of firms that have secured funding under IP360 thus far, with certain entries also detailing specific projects. This holds true for Koei Tecmo Games, as per the document, which has been chosen by METI to receive backing for “the development of the new game FUJI (working title).”
Information regarding the game itself is still limited, but according to its description, it’s a brand-new IP that makes use of Koei Tecmo’s know-how in “Oriental-themed aesthetics and action games.” Through this endeavor, Koei Tecmo aims for a “global success and extensive IP growth propelled by the game itself.”

The terms “eastern-inspired aesthetics” and “action” evoke Koei Tecmo franchises such as Dynasty Warriors, Wo Long and Rise of the Ronin, but considering FUJI will be a fresh series, the forthcoming title could explore avenues we’ve yet to witness.
In addition to Koei Tecmo, other prominent Japanese gaming firms including Konami, Square Enix, and Sega have likewise been selected for METI’s IP360 program.
