The journey to become Japan’s number one hero still has untold feats to show on screen. As part of the massive celebrations for its first decade, the acclaimed My Hero Academia franchise will return this summer with the debut of a new animated short titled “I am a hero too”.
This project is designed to bring life to a self-contained story drawn by the talented mangaka Kohei Horikoshi, which was originally published exclusively in the commemorative book My Hero Academia Ultra Age. The arrival of this small heroic piece follows the successful formula of “More”, another moving short based on the same special publication that aired just a day earlier, showing a clear interest in keeping the community engaged.

Although the acclaimed shonen has concluded its main story publication, adapting the exclusive content from the Ultra Age book is a masterstroke for the production committee. This not only honors Horikoshi’s hard work but also gives international fans the chance to enjoy animated adventures they would otherwise have limited physical access to.
For now, the animation studio has withheld releasing a preview video or the list of seiyuus participating in the project. However, the title strongly suggests an inspiring narrative where a character steps up to prove that anyone can achieve greatness with the right determination, embracing the core values that propelled Izuku Midoriya and Class 1-A to global stardom.
