Publisher Perfect World Games provided shareholders with an update on the performance of its open-world anime RPG Neverness to Everness (NTE) on April 30, the day after the gameโs global launch. The company stated that first-day sales surpassed 100 million Chinese Yuan (approximately $14.64 million USD), though it remains unclear whether this figure encompasses sales from the Chinese version of the game as well.
Diving into the details, the publisher noted that Japan and the United States contribute the largest portions of revenue, while South Koreaโs contribution is exceeding projections. In terms of platform distribution, PC and PlayStation 5 users represent about 75% of NTEโs earnings.
The response to Neverness to Everness has been largely favorable, with data indicating that players are spending more time exploring the urban environment rather than engaging in combat. In light of this, Perfect World Games is contemplating the introduction of paid city-themed content, which would include character skins, clothing, houses, and vehicles.
Regarding the gameโs future development, the team is actively considering player feedback and concerns, intending to address them in upcoming updates. Versions 1.1 and 1.2, for instance, will focus on enhancing performance and usability to make the game more approachable. Perfect World Games also aims to refine gameplay mechanics to boost appeal and player retention.
Neverness to Everness is accessible on Android, iOS, PlayStation 5, as well as Windows and macOS (available for download from the official website).
