When you thought the exorcist genre had shown everything in Shonen Jump, along comes a manga where ghosts aren’t just banished—they’re eaten whole! The supernatural comedy Phantom Busters (Fantomu Basutazu) launched its official website to announce its own TV adaptation, set to premiere in 2027.

To celebrate, author and illustrator Neoshoco shared a commemorative illustration and expressed his excitement about seeing his characters come to life. The creator thanked readers for making this project possible, highlighting that the story’s dynamic and fun tone will shine even brighter when the protagonists start moving and causing chaos on screen.

The story follows Eugene Korekishi, a top student who doesn’t believe in ghosts at all, and his partner Mogari Shishikuno, a unique exorcist capable of devouring ghosts in one bite. Although Mogari can’t see spirits himself, their dynamic changes when they meet someone with spiritual vision. Together, they decide to form an exorcism club in high school for a life far from the ordinary, soon adding Kaoru Kanzaki and trying to recruit Kotaro Tamon, a boy who talks to ghosts but struggles to communicate with living humans.

Written and illustrated by Neoshoco, the manga began its serialization in Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine in 2023. The work has achieved steady growth in the Japanese market, accumulating over 1.4 million copies in circulation across its printed and digital volumes. The publisher released the seventh compiled volume on February 4 and will release the eighth volume on October 2.
