Independent creators from the doujin circle NOPAINNOPAY have made available a complimentary demo for their forthcoming otome game, Senti Metrica. The narrative centers on an ordinary university student who shockingly realizes she is gradually transforming into a monstrous being. After crossing paths with three male monster hunters called “Metrica,” she is mistaken for one of their kind and must navigate her metamorphoses while assisting them in their dangerous endeavors.
Each of the three Metrica romantic interests possesses both a civilian appearance and a battle-ready transformed form (which they utilize to combat creatures). The Metricas’ attitude toward the protagonist shifts depending on which form they are currently employing.
The first Metrica, Shizuma Hiragi, is the stoic and reserved type who rarely shows any discernible emotion. Hibaki Oozora is the fervent Metrica whose upbeat demeanor seems to mask a much more sinister nature. Lastly, Hazuki Hiragi is the protagonist’s enigmatic childhood companion (his present location remains a mystery).
Besides its visual novel-inspired storytelling, the game incorporates turn-based combat mechanics where players must maintain equilibrium between their Reason and True Nature meters. The decisions made during fights will influence the story’s progression.
NOPAINNOPAY has clarified that although Senti Metrica employs generative AI tools for editing and proofreading purposes, the original scenario writing, character development, artistic direction, and final text review were all completed in-house.
Senti Metrica is currently under development for Windows (Steam). The game will support Japanese, Korean, and English languages (work on the English localization will commence after the developer’s other project, Channel 453, launches).
