The production committee behind the animated adaptation of the quirky manga Giant Ojou-sama has revealed a new promotional image and officially confirmed that the series will hit screens in January 2027. The project, animated by legendary studio Tatsunoko Production, promises a huge dose of chaos to kick off the year with one of the most absurd comedies the community has seen.

The story introduces Oriko Fujido, the young heir to a hyper-billionaire conglomerate who, at the tender age of four, received an entire city as a birthday gift. After years of caring for and developing her beloved metropolis, a mysterious giant invader suddenly attacks. To save the day, her loyal butler and scientist, Dr. Sebastian, gives her an experimental energy drink that turns our refined protagonist into a waifu of titanic proportions. The real problem—and the absolute center of the comedy—is that her enormous size often causes the same level of collateral damage as the monster she tries to defeat.

The announcement came with enthusiastic messages from the creative team. The creator of the work, Nikumura Q, celebrated with great excitement that we will finally see his giant lady moving and talking while crushing buildings. Director Hiroshi Ikehata took the opportunity to leave fans of giant girls a funny comment, promising an entertainment work of XL size and infinite fun, before admitting with laughter that he himself didn’t know exactly what he was saying. Character design will be handled by Hajime Mitsuda, while Yutaka Sato will oversee the scripts.
