Digital monsters are ready to celebrate thirty years of evolution big time. The production team of the Digimon franchise officially announced that a new animated adaptation project is officially in development and scheduled to premiere in 2027. The news came with a nostalgic promotional image featuring the Chosen Children and their most iconic digital partners throughout the series’ history.

This new production is a key part of the celebrations for the brand’s thirtieth anniversary, with its iconic virtual pet toys first hitting the market in 1997, paving the way for the legendary anime Digimon Adventure in 1999. While the production committee hasn’t revealed the final title, the creative team, the plot, or whether it will be a TV series or a cinematic format, the commemorative poster successfully ignited the enthusiasm of the community.

As preparations for 2027 begin, the franchise continues its regular broadcast on Japanese television with the DIGIMON BEATBREAK series. This installment originally premiered in October 2025 and remains in continuous broadcast, having recently started its anticipated Kyo arc after airing its thirty-eighth episode in July. With an active present and a future full of surprises, fans of the series will have plenty of adventures in the Digimond in the coming years.
