The story takes place in a world where supernatural phenomena are so common that the government had to create a licensing system, special schools, and classifications for people with mysterious powers. In this society, any miracle manifestation grants you the rank of Himiko, but only those who obtain official certification can claim the title of a true god. This is where Nagi comes in—a high school student who urgently needs to achieve divinity for her family’s shrine after her grandmother’s death, as her older brother is a Himiko locked in his room who doesn’t help at all.

Both the creative team and the authors shared their excitement after the official announcement. Hyuganatsu expressed deep joy at seeing his characters Nagi, Takeru, Tsukuyomi, and Tota finally come to life on screen, recalling fondly how this journey began when his editor proposed writing a work for the magazine Hana to Yume alongside illustrator Modomu Akagawara, who also celebrated the news by sharing a beautiful commemorative illustration to thank the public for their massive support.
