The production committee behind the original anime Vertex Force has finally revealed its cards, releasing an impressive promotional video that confirms its arrival on Japanese television this upcoming October 3rd.

Unlike the typical invincible protagonist, the story follows Akira Todo, a high school student living a peaceful life in northern Okinawa with his mother and older sister, Haruka. The major family drama is that Haruka inherited from her late father a mysterious power known simply as “Engine,” while Akira was born completely normal, leading to a huge inferiority complex. Their quiet routine of running the family café is shattered when strange global events begin to unfold and unknown enemies threaten to destroy Earth, forcing these young individuals to bear the fate of the entire universe.

A top-tier technical team

To ensure the action sequences are a visual delight, animation is handled by studio SMDE under the meticulous direction of Kazuhiro Takamura, a veteran of the industry known for gems like Strike Witches and Vividred Operation, who is also in charge of character designs. The mechanical aspect is equally impressive, featuring the immense talent of Kanetake Ebikawa and JNTHED (both renowned for their work in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury) to design the weaponry and suits. Adding to this talent lineup, the production has revealed the main stars of its voice cast.
