Designed for players who enjoy “Project Zomboid with a Stardew Valley twist,” the upcoming Steam release In the Van is a post-apocalyptic zombie survival game centered around a mobile home. Created by South Korean indie studio Cosmic Tofu, the title supports both solo and cooperative play.
Upon creating your survivor character, you’ll gain access to your mobile home and can freely explore the world. While the initial trailer reveals the ability to set up camp near your vehicle, the gameplay largely emphasizes utilizing the home’s interior facilities to your advantage.
In the Van’s central gameplay involves driving to various locations to scavenge and craft essential items, weapons, and home improvements for survival. During your adventures, you’ll also find phones and digital devices that reveal fragments of lore and clues to hidden supply caches.
The game places significant importance on making your mobile home comfortable. When not struggling for resources or battling zombies, you can engage in relaxing activities like decorating with plushies, cultivating crops, and preparing various meals around your mobile home.
