Gotcha Gotcha Games, a video game publisher and subsidiary of Japan’s entertainment giant Kadokawa, has recently unveiled its latest horror adventure title, Nightmare Journey 1135, set to launch in 2027 via Steam.
Created by Japanese developer yaigi, Nightmare Journey 1135 follows the narrative of protagonist “Shi,” who endures horrific nightmares each night. One day, a bird that Shi had previously encountered in a dream appears in the real world, and every time they attempt to pursue it, the protagonist finds themselves entering a genuine nightmare. Ultimately, Shi meets a grim fate, yet the nightmare shows no signs of concluding.

Channeling the nostalgia of classic freeware games, the title invites players to explore a charming yet eerie world brought to life with dreamlike pixel art. In a gameplay style reminiscent of “escape-the-room” scenarios—or rather, “escape-the-dream”—Nightmare Journey 1135 incorporates numerous puzzles scattered across its surreal landscape, all of which must be solved to break free from the terror. According to the game’s Steam store page, these mechanics are deeply intertwined with the main storyline, which centers on “twisted relationships” among characters. As a horror game, Nightmare Journey 1135 will不可避免ly feature graphic violence and unsettling visuals, elements that contribute to its “mind-shattering” experience.

Nightmare Journey 1135 is slated for release on PC (Steam) in 2027, offering support for Japanese, English, and Chinese languages.
