The anime Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei confirms its Part 2 is in production
The production committee confirms the most powerful magic siblings have more story to tell.
Tatsuya and Miyuki have not said their last word. The production committee of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei has officially confirmed that Part 2 of the anime is in production, accompanying the announcement with a new promotional image showing the future awaiting the most powerful siblings in history. There is no date, no cast confirmed, and no production team announced yet, but the sign that work is already underway is what fans needed to see.

The message accompanying the image was brief but direct: “The future awaiting the most powerful siblings. Thanks for your continued support of The Irregular at Magic High School.” Few words, but enough to confirm that the story of Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba continues in animated form.
The announcement comes at a particularly active time for the franchise. In addition to Part 2 of the anime now in production, the movie The Irregular at Magic High School: Yotsuba Succession Arc is currently in theaters in Japan, meaning the saga is simultaneously present in two distinct formats. For a franchise that launched its first animated adaptation in 2014, maintaining that level of activity over a decade later is no small feat.
The base series has accumulated over 30 million copies sold across all formats, with the original light novels alone surpassing 14 million copies. Those numbers explain why the Mahouka universe keeps expanding: there is a base of readers and viewers who have followed the story from the start and clearly haven’t gone anywhere.
About Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei is a series of light novels written by Tsutomu Sato with illustrations by Kana Ishida. The story takes place in a near future where magic is no longer mysterious and has become a recognized form of technology. In this context, siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba attend a magic-specialized school where they face situations that test both their skills and bonds. The first anime adaptation arrived in 2014, followed by the spin-off The Honor Student at Magic High School in 2021. The franchise has also expanded to manga and video game adaptations, solidifying itself as one of the longest-running multimedia properties in recent anime.
