Celestia Sokuho, a Japanese news blog focused on Honkai: Star Rail, issued an apology on June 14 for disseminating unverified information and leaks related to the game. Following the announcement, the website was made inaccessible, and it appears that all leaked material has been purged.
In its apology, Celestia Sokuho directly addressed COGNOSPHERE, also known as HoYoverse, admitting that it had “violated the company’s Terms of Use and disrupted future promotional plans, undermining the efforts of the development team and impeding the healthy growth of the fan community.” While the exact reason for Celestia Sokuho’s shutdown remains unconfirmed, it is widely believed that HoYoverse took legal action, demanding a public apology and the removal of the leaked data.
Looking ahead, Celestia Sokuho has committed to erasing all past leaks and refraining from acquiring, publishing, or sharing any unreleased content from HoYoverse. It is uncertain whether the site will relaunch, especially since its social media profiles are set for deletion, suggesting a permanent closure.
HoYoverse has a reputation for stringent measures against leaks. Recent crackdowns on individuals and outlets involved in spreading unreleased information indicate that the company is not limiting its actions to those who directly leaked the content.
In a notable instance, miHoYo pursued legal action against three leakers of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail who operated the HomDGCat Wiki, resulting in their arrest and the site’s shutdown. Additionally, the company filed a lawsuit against another blogger for approximately $70k USD for “persistently sharing unpublished details” about these titles. In June 2025, HoYoverse sued a resident of California for streaming Honkai: Star Rail on Discord and leaking a new character months before its release, seeking over $150k USD in damages (source: Game File).
Overall, last year, the company collaborated with law enforcement on 22 criminal probes and initiated lawsuits against 2,388 individuals.
