Renowned Japanese solo developer Kizami Lemon Toast has recently launched the Steam store page for their innovative gambling roguelike, ULTIMATE CHAOS GAMBLING BATTLE, known in Japan as “The Big Trinity! Ultra Bizarre Chaotic Gambling Game ~ULTIMATE CHAOS GAMBLING BATTLE~.” Set to arrive on the platform later this year, the game is billed as a wild “melting pot/ultimate freakshow of a gambling game,” blending elements of poker, mahjong, hanafuda, and blackjack into one chaotic experience.

At the beginning of each round, players receive five cards and are tasked with crafting hands, much like in poker. The twist here is the inclusion of poker cards, mahjong tiles, and Japanese hanafuda cards, which can be matched and rearranged to form unique hands and moves, essentially “crossing the boundaries” of multiple games within ULTIMATE CHAOS GAMBLING BATTLE. But what does this even entail?, you might wonder.

For instance, the Eight of Hearts (playing cards) and the Eight of Dots (mahjong) can form a poker Pair. Accumulating a hand of 21 earns you a Blackjack, regardless of the card or tile type used. The game also introduces original hands to its already eccentric gameplay. A Black-Weak occurs when your hand falls just short of Blackjack, while a Fake Royal Straight Flush mirrors a normal Royal Straight Flush but is crafted entirely from non-playing cards.

Before each round begins, players place a bet, with winnings or losses determined by the payout multiplier of the hands created. Multiple hands can be formed simultaneously, and players can swap their hand cards for new ones by spending some of their betted funds.

However, ULTIMATE CHAOS GAMBLING BATTLE adds another layer to the “Balatro-like” gambling game format by imposing limits on multipliers. In-game, players are provided with a wallet to store winnings, which has a cap on the amount of money it can hold. While players can continue to add cash beyond its capacity, doing so increases the risk of the wallet exploding, resulting in an instant game over. Yet, only after exceeding the wallet’s limit can players upgrade its capacity, making strategic decisions about when to raise and when to fold essential for avoiding a failed run.

The developers note that the vibrant, colorful artwork and hyper-saturated visuals are designed to keep players engaged and “push your gambling fever into overdrive.”

ULTIMATE CHAOS GAMBLING BATTLE is scheduled to launch on Steam in 2026.
